Once you know how to cook quinoa, you can make endless combinations of dishes with it! Here are some of our favorites:
1. Quinoa breakfast bowl with berries and almond milk
This is a great way to start your day, especially if you’re looking for a healthy and filling breakfast. Simply cook up some quinoa, top it with blueberries, strawberries, unsweetened almond milk, and crushed almonds. You can also drizzle on some honey or maple syrup if you like things a little sweeter.
2. Quinoa chia seed lunch bowl
This dish is super simple to prepare but has big flavors! Cook up a batch of quinoa, then mix it with some chia seeds, diced avocado, and your choice of toppings. We recommend trying diced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, or shredded kale.
3. Quinoa black bean burger
Burger night just got a lot healthier! These quinoa black bean burgers are easy to make and packed with protein, fiber, and flavor! Cook up some quinoa (remember to rinse it first) and mix it with black beans, chopped cilantro, shredded carrots, and egg, spices like cumin and coriander. Form your burger patties, then pan-sear them until they’re golden brown on both sides. Top the burger with your favorite burger toppings and you’re ready to go!
5. Quinoa chili
Make a big pot of quinoa chili on the weekend for leftovers during the week. This dish is perfect if you’re looking for something that you can eat both warm or cold, it works either way! Simply cook up some quinoa, then mix it with black beans, diced tomatoes, diced onion, chili powder, and other spices to taste.
6. Quinoa salad
A great way to use up leftover cooked quinoa is to make a quinoa salad. This dish can be tailored to your liking by adding in any of your favorite salad ingredients. Some of our favorites include diced cucumber, tomatoes, bell peppers, olives, and chopped avocado. You can also add in some cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu for an extra protein boost.
7. Quinoa pizza crust
Skip the delivery and make your quinoa pizza crust at home! This recipe is very simple and only requires four ingredients: quinoa, salt, water, and olive oil. You can use this crust to make a traditional pizza or you can get creative with your toppings! We love adding sautéed mushrooms, spinach leaves, peppers, and onions on top of our pizza. Once cooked through, add some marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese and you’re good to go.
8. Quinoa falafel
Looking for a healthy and delicious snack? Try this quinoa falafel! They’re perfect for game day or a party appetizer. Simply cook up some quinoa, then mix it with mashed chickpeas, shredded red onion, garlic powder, and spices. Then form the mixture into round patties and pan sear until golden brown on each side. You can go traditional with this recipe by serving the falafel with tzatziki sauce or hummus if you like!
9. Quinoa spaghetti
This dish is perfect for those times when you want a healthy and filling alternative to traditional pasta. Simply cook up some quinoa according to package instructions, then add it to a pan with your choice of sauce. We love using this recipe with our favorite homemade tomato sauce or even just olive oil and garlic.
10. Quinoa stir fry
Stir-fries are a great way to use up any leftover vegetables in your fridge, and this quinoa stir fry is no exception! Simply cook up some quinoa according to package instructions, then set it aside. In a separate pan, sauté your favorite vegetables (we love using broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, and onion) with a touch of oil until they’re tender. Add the cooked quinoa and vegetables to a pan and stir together until everything is evenly mixed. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and you’re good to go!
